TRENT HILLS, ON – April 25, 2026 – The community of Trent Hills is grieving the sudden and tragic loss of 14-year-old Colson Myers, whose death has left a deep sense of sorrow throughout this small but close-knit town. Colson, described as “bright, kind-hearted, and full of life,” was involved in a fatal ATV rollover on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, while riding on an off-road trail in Northumberland County, Ontario.
The incident occurred around 4:15 p.m. when Colson was riding his All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) along a trail located between Burnbrae Road East and Loucks Road. According to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), emergency crews rushed to the scene after receiving reports of a serious crash. Despite the swift arrival of first responders and immediate medical efforts to save him, Colson was transported to Campbellford Memorial Hospital. Tragically, he was later pronounced dead.
As part of their investigation, the OPP closed the trail for several hours to allow collision reconstruction teams to carefully examine the scene. The investigation is still ongoing, and authorities are working to determine the exact cause of the rollover.
